Joan Miró Museum
It was founded in 1981 by the artist and his wife, who provided the necessary land and funds to the Town Council of Palma to build what is nowadays a Foundation. It shows different artworks by Miró, including paintings, sculptures, engravings and lithographies. Pure art!
Es Baluard
It’s Palma’s Contemporanean Art Museum, with a magnificent collection of artworks by Cézanne, Gauguin, Picasso, Miró, and Tàpies, among other artists. It also offers temporal exhibitions that make Es Baluard a cultural reference in Mallorca. Furthermore, it’s located very conveniently, at el Paseo de Mallorca , thus offering visitors the best views over Palma Bay.
Can Marquès
An alive museum at the only noble house that can be visited in Palma. It offers art in its essence and a magnificent architectonical beauty, becoming a symbol of the taste of the city’s past inhabitants. This amazing house was built in the 16th Century and it’s very well preserved…all in all, a dream house.
The Balearic Museum of Natural Science
It’s located at Sóller, and has as its main objective divulgating the islands’ cultural heritage. It has a vast space devoted to plants, including both local and foreign species, although the museum is typically local, situated at one of the most beautiful villages on the island.
The Observatory of Costitx
It’s the perfect place for those who want to learn a bit more. It has become one of the most important observatories in Spain, due to its privileged location.
