· Abraxas (Formerly Pachá):It’s located in a dream-like spot: Palma’s Promenade, where Mallorca’s nightlife concentrates. It used to be the old Pachá, and guarantees good music and dancing floors crowded with beautiful people. Abraxa’s VIP area is probably its most outstanding feature
· BCM Planet Dance:
It’s the most outstanding disco at Magallug. A real dance empire, and the favourite place for many British visitors who come to Mallorca to “relax”. Among the magnificent DJ’s who have played there are: dj Sammy, Judge Jules and Seb Fontaine, as well as the best go-go dancers and loads of tourists eager of having good fun. It houses some renowned parties, as the ‘Foam Party’, the funky party and probably the most popular one: the Payboy party.
· Mar Salada:
The favourite club after a long night out at Mallorca. It offers a selected ambience and visitors with an average age of more than 25. It plays close, popular music, usually Spanish pop music, Latin music and generally past and present hits to delight visitors. It usually closes at daybreak, and the most popular party is the renowned “Fiesta del pareo”, which is the finishing touch to the Copa del Rey sailing cup, held in August
· Tito’s:
No doubt it’s a landmark in Palma’s nightlife. Founded in 1923, it has become an eminent club in all Europe, offering the best sound and laser equipments to a crowd that keeps coming, be it Winter or Summer. There are parties every day, as the Latex party on Mondays and the Fashion Nights, on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as an excellent team of resident DJ’s, headed by Ricky Rich and Dj’ Gerom. The futuristic look and transparent lifts are two of its attractive features, offering magnificent views over the bay of Palma.
· Barracuda:
It’s the most Mediterranean club, located at the Harbour of Andratx, which is the most stylish one in Mallorca. It welcomes Spanish and German visitors, and some say even Claudia Schiffer has danced in the place- by the way, she has a house close to it. It essentially plays music from the 80s, a bit of soul, house, pop and funk. There are three bars and a total of 500 squares metres to enjoy.
· Menta:
The biggest club in the Harbour of Alcudia has become a mainstay in the island’s summer nightlife. During summer time, it opens every day from 23:00 to 6:00, offering 7 different bars, a swimming pool and a chill-out area in the garden. Tickets depend on the party, but they start from 10 euros.
· Riu Palace:
An emblematic club at El Arenal, it houses the biggest parties in the tourist area, with a wide range of shows. It’s totally addressed to British and German visitors, and some say it’s the “paradise of love”, with some parties such as ‘Kama Sutra’ and ‘Lovers Party’. Owned by the same owner as BCM’s, it’s easy to get a cheap ticket to both clubs.
· La Demence: Formerly the concert hall know as “Assaig”, it’s located at elPolígono Son Castelló, in Palma. Both aesthetically and in its essence, it’s a gay ambience club, although it attracts all kind of visitors. Tickets include a drink and the opportunity to have a good time, sometimes with a live music show and amazing go-go dancers with the best House and Disco sound
· Level & Karajo:
Located opposite Tito’s, it makes an explosive cocktail together with ‘Karajo’. Both related clubs offer a pop music beginning, to end with the latest hits. Karajo, which is a small place, becomes the perfect place for having a drink, start dancing a have a chat. A bit later, the party moves to Level, where you can find a huge dancing floor that keeps hot until daybreak |
· Bar Bosch: Plaza Joan Carles I. Palma
Right at the heart of Palma, it’s a classical pub in the capital’s social life. It offers a wide terrace that is open both in Winter and in Summertime so as to enjoy the island’s mild climate and taste its famous ‘llagostas’ , that is, a special kind of sandwich
· Can Joan de s’Aigo: C/Barón de Santa María del Sepulcro y C/Sans
Don’t miss a visit to the island’s best chocolate shop, a centennial company that still uses the same traditional manufacturing methods from more than a century ago. They have the best chocolate, ice-creams, ensaimadas (sweet pastry), and cuarts on the island, and its two shops always become crowded with families.
·Kaffee Capuccino:The most eminent coffee-shops retail chain in Mallorca, they’re located all around the island and they guarantee the best service, a vast variety of tea and coffee, food and desserts. The most outstanding among the 5 shops is the one located at San Miguel Street, in Palma. It’s an old small palace of local style, with roomy spaces and a magnificent decoration
· Puro Beach: Cala Estancia
Chill Out music, sun-beds, a swimming-pool, a bar and a restaurant are just some of the features you can find at Puro Beach, on Cala Estancia beach. It reminds of the purest Ibizan style: white furniture, waiters in fisherman pants… and offers the most selected moments by the sea…a perfect place for those who enjoy a good chat and low music…just a piece of advice: drinks can be a bit expensive.
· Ábaco y Abacanto: La Lonja, Palma. Sa Indiotería, en Palma.
Abacanto is one of the most magnificent properties in the whole island, as it’s decorated with unique taste, in a palace-like ambience…all in all, a different view of Mallorca. You feel transported back to the 18th century, to the Romanticism period, with the classical furniture, and the loads of rose petals and all those candles… As in Ábaco, in the neighbourhood called La Lonja- Palma, the bar service is excellent, and cocktails are a speciality |
